When We Are Closed

At all times when you need medical attention telephone the surgery number 01257 442628

If the surgery is closed, an answer-phone message will tell you to replace the receiver and dial 111. 

Visits by the doctor will only be made in the event of the patient being too ill to travel to the doctor at the emergency centre.

Patients who are told to attend the emergency centre will need to make their own travel arrangements but will be seen quickly and efficiently in ideal conditions.

Please ensure that out of hours calls are only requested when there is an urgent medical problem that cannot wait until the next normal surgery. Calling the doctor unnecessarily might delay them attending to a real emergency.

In order to monitor and improve the standard of service provided, all telephone calls to the emergency centre are recorded

NHS Direct

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can also call NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
